TOUR DETAILS
First, we will Pick you up from your hotel and drive to our cooking studio and private gastro laboratory located in Maras, where you will experience the best way of cooking different varierities of potatoes, “Huatia”, and old technic of cooking potatoes using a traditional Peruvian earthen oven, which dates back to the days of the Incas and even before. Then, you will participate in cooking a “Pachamanca”, a traditional Peruvian dish, made of a variety of vegetables and meats cooked using hot stones in an oven built under the ground. After cooking, and while our traditional meal gets done, we will take you to visit the incredible circulate terraces of Moray, which was used as an Incan agricultural laboratory. Here your expert tour guide will explain you about how the Incas adapted different crops to higher elevations. We will come back to our cooking laboratory in Maras and enjoy our delicious meal surrounded by snowcapped mountains and the best landscape of the Sacred Valley. Finally we will take you to explore the salt terraces of Maras, where you will witness how people harvest salt from the mountain using the same technic as thousands of years ago. After this unforgettable culinary experience we will take you back to Cusco.
